The Etherington Brothers’ free perspective tutorials · roughly 2–4 weeks
not started yet This is the plan for this module as it stands. It gets revisited once it’s reached — kept if it still fits, changed or swapped out if something better turns up along the way.

Learn enough 1- and 2-point perspective to place a character in a room and draw a believable box, building, or prop. That’s the whole goal here.

The Etherington Brothers — already your character-design resource later in this course — have their own free, cartoon-native perspective tutorials: 1-point perspective (part two), 2-point perspective, and perspective boxes. Visual, practical, and built for exactly this style — no textbook or lecture series required.

free alternatives ModernDayJames covers the same ground for free on YouTube in a looser way, and Ernest Norling’s classic Perspective Made Easy (free and legal, Internet Archive) is a good plain-English companion if you’d rather read than watch.
optional deep dive If perspective genuinely clicks for you and you want to go further, Marshall Vandruff’s 1994 Perspective Drawing Series ($12, 12 lectures) is some of the clearest, most in-depth perspective teaching ever recorded — but it’s well past what a cartoonist strictly needs, so treat it as optional, not required.
